Historic Detroit

Every building in Detroit has a story — we're here to share it

Mary S. Smith House

Designed by Chittenden & Kotting for Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Smith Jr. in 1911.

Aside from being a private residence over the years, the building was also occupied by the "Janisse Bros. Funeral Home" in the mid 1940s, by the "Riverside Clinic" in the 1960s and by an architectural and community planning company, Charles Terrence McCafferty and Associates, in the early 1980s.
