Albert Kahn designed this residence for Joseph Siegel, a prominent women’s clothing retailer. Several other members of the Siegel family also made their homes in the neighborhood. His father, Jacob Siegel, founder and president of the American Lady Corset Company, lived just across the boulevard at 51 West Boston Boulevard, where a similarly styled home was constructed in 1917. Benjamin Siegel lived at 150 West Boston Boulevard.
