3396 Vinewood St. in Southwest Detroit is a historic 1910 firehouse originally designed by prominent architecture firm Chittenden & Kotting. It housed Engine Co. #10 and Ladder Co. #4 until closing in 2000. In 2022, it was masterfully restored and today, the beautifully restored building serves as an internationally acclaimed wine bar and bottle shop.
The renovation carefully preserved many of the firehouse's historic features, including its glazed brick interior walls, original coffered oak and pine ceilings, the original hose tower, and a brass fire pole that is now displayed as a historic artifact. Adding to the building's character, several tables and decorative elements were crafted from reclaimed slate salvaged from the former Durfee Elementary-Middle School, blending Detroit's architectural heritage into one unique space.
