The Douglas House at 750 Virginia Park Street was designed by George V. Pottle for H. A. Douglas and built in 1910. Douglas was treasurer and assistant secretary of both the Michigan Sugar Company and the Minnesota Sugar Company. The house was estimated to cost $6,500 to construct.
Designed in the Arts & Crafts style, the house is part of the Virginia Park Historic District. Interestingly, architect George V. Pottle himself lived on Virginia Park and designed the decorative gates at the ends of the three-block-long street in 1911. The house later served as a residential care facility; Michigan records identify it as Hudson Home I, a licensed adult group home operating at the address since 2019.
