The Charles B. Van Dusen House at 700 Virginia Park Street was built in 1908 in the Neo-Tudor/Arts and Crafts style. Its first residents were Charles B. Van Dusen and his wife, Minnie. Van Dusen served as president of the S. S. Kresge Company for 23 years, rising from a retail clerk to become one of the company's leading executives.
The asymmetrical orange-brick house is distinguished by its prominent gabled east bay, stuccoed upper stories with half-timbering, grouped windows, oriel window, and an Arts and Crafts-style front porch supported by square wooden posts. The house is part of the Virginia Park Historic District.
