The Allen H. Zacharis House at 669 Virginia Park Street was designed by Detroit architect William E. N. Hunter and built in 1908. The builder was Huth & Sons. The house is a distinctive example of early 20th-century residential architecture and contributes to the historic character of the Virginia Park Historic District.

The property also has an interesting later history. In the 1960s, it served as the Phi Sigma Delta fraternity house, housing Wayne State University students for several years. Today, the substantial historic residence remains part of Virginia Park's collection of early 20th-century homes. Current property records identify it as a three-story, approximately 5,360-square-foot brick residence dating to 1908.
