Marcel Breuer

The Hungarian-born Marcel Breuer was a noted architect and furniture designer. He practiced architecture in Germany, Switzerland and England and taught at the Harvard School of Design from 1937-45.

He also conceived the first chair made entirely of chromium-plated tubular steel and has also designed furniture in aluminum and plywood.

He designed the Grosse Pointe Central Library.
