Historic Detroit

Every building in Detroit has a story — we're here to share it

William A. Fisher Mansion

Designed by Richard Henderson Marr for William A. Fisher (1886–1969) in 1916.

The mansion met its tragic end in a devastating fire in 1994 while undergoing renovations.

Investigators attributed the blaze to propane heaters left on overnight. Controversy surrounding the mansion's fate continued for a year until it was ultimately demolished in January 1995.
